Butterfly Series

The project consisted of the design of a collection of taps for the bathroom, with a medium-low RRP, with straight formal lines and cubic bodies. It is an exercise in product and market research, analysis and product development, by optimising materials and manufacturing processes to cover a market niche with a product that is aesthetically coherent with international market trends.

Project WINE ALARM

The project brief consisted of designing a new product that incorporates an ultrasound sensor in its structure and functionality. It had to have an innovative approach that met the needs detected in the market study, and be an economically and technically viable product. A formal prototype was built, its packaging and a brand was also generated for the company that would have, among other security products, the Wine Alarms.

Design for the development and manufacture of a bicycle security device.

Project focused on the definition of functional aspects of the product, materials and processes, and the preparation of descriptive technical documentation, enabling the product to be manufactured in the Design IV workshop subject. After analysis, the design specifications were obtained that allowed the functional prototype to be manufactured, which complemented the technical documentation (Technical File or Monograph), essential to achieve a full understanding of the project understanding of the project.

Project Design of a Product-Service System (PSS)

Lock-E

The project consisted of the design of a Product Service System (PSS). In particular, it had to solve the problem of the current waste collection service and its containers in Zaragoza, focusing, among other possible themes, on the solution of the problems of vandalism solution, the management of the collection routes, second life of the products... Lock-E has an application where you can select the desired product to reuse and the locker where you can go to collect it or pick it up at home.

Sweeper Trolley Design Project

The project consisted of the design of a sweeper trolley. A complete usability and ergonomics study was performed to find out in detail the users, the sequence of use of the product and the tasks to be carried out with it, making it possible to identify the main problems to generate solutions. Likewise, a constant evaluation was were done about the ergonomic solutions proposed by means of the development of volumetric models, the use of postural assessment tools, etc.

DINA stand design

A proposal for a stand for a trade fair in Aragon for the Product and Service Design Association of Aragon (DINA). The aim of participating in the show with this proposal is for the attendees to understand that a designer is essential for any type of company. It is a partial and neutral container to exhibit projects of the associates.

Express Project: Hand Sanitiser / Alcohol Dispenser

Touching alcohol or disinfectant containers with infected hands can transmit the virus to the next person. Thus, a prototype of the automatic hand sanitiser dispenser was designed and manufactured using 3D printing. The product is functional as it was intended to be placed in different areas of the EINA.

Smart Bin. Factor Idea 2020/21

B/S/H

Intelligent waste bin that allows the automatic separation of waste generated during cooking. It differentiates between plastic and organic waste so that it falls into the correct bin and facilitates recycling for users. When the sensor located in the upper part of the set detects certain frequencies specific to plastic, it rotates a lid towards the plastic waste side. If the frequency does not match, the waste is organic and it rotates in the opposite direction.

LEAN Dry Product Packaging Design

XII Edition of the National Awards for Design and Sustainability in Container and Packaging

The project consists of the design of a packaging set within the framework of the challenges proposed in the 12th edition of the National Design and Sustainability Awards for Packaging, organised by the Packaging Innovation Cluster. It was carried out for the company Logifruit, which proposed the design of a secondary and reusable packaging for the display of dry products in food distribution. This project was the Winner of the Awards and was a candidate in the Young Design category of the Liderpack Awards.

TFG: Design of a health monitoring system for patients with ischemic heart disease

EINA, Salud Aragón

This Final Degree Project has been developed based on the need, corroborated by healthcare professionals in the cardiac environment, to design a system for self-monitoring the health of patients with ischaemic heart disease (IHD) after they have passed through the hospital phases.
The work process was structured in five stages (understand, explore, define, develop and prototype, and deliver) and followed the principles of the Design Thinking methodology, putting into practice the knowledge acquired throughout the four years of the Degree in Industrial Design Engineering and Product Development at the University of Zaragoza. As a result of the phases of research and detection of user needs, the app for smartphone called Late + has been developed.
This interface development for the preventive health care support of the users and with the objectives to motivate, educate and inform, allows to cover all the basic needs of health self-monitoring of the disease in a single application. It also provides the possibility of viewing the constants and measurements, which can be used by healthcare professionals to check how patients are evolving between visits. It does not, however, seek to replace the professional's face-to-face attention with the patient.
The final grade of the project was outstanding and Salud wishes to launch the app on the market after some final adaptations through collaboration with the healthcare professionals who are demanding that the application be fully functional.

How to connect and bring public institutions closer to young people

Arantzazulab

Arantzazulab's challenge proposal to the DBZ-Mondragon Unibertsitatea Master's students was: How to connect and bring public institutions closer to young people in order to empower them to participate in the advancement of society?
The proposal generated had the objective of capturing the concerns of young people individually in order to provide them with joint solutions. For the strategic definition, the proposal has been called “¡Gazte! Etor Zaitez”, which translates into English as "Youth! Come closer!".

XUME, Your order in a Click

The challenge on which XUME was developed was: "Design and development of strategic products and services that enable the improvement of the autonomy and quality of life of visually impaired people in the domestic context".
The first product-service to be developed by the XUME company was the PSS XUCAM to help order and control stocks in different storage systems (mainly fridges and pantries or cupboards). Initially it is for the home, although a future line has also been defined to extend it to the catering environment to help these businesses to control products and facilitate coordination with the companies from which they obtain the goods by automating this process.

Design of a responsive web application

Linq

EThe challenge proposed by the company Linq was "To design a responsive web application capable of demonstrating to the user the economic benefits of implementing a non-destructive inspection system; paying special attention to the usability of the system and respecting the LINQ style guide".
To this end, a series of insights were generated regarding the potential users of the digital system and a brief was defined on which to generate the responsive website.
The final proposal was that through a tabbed navigation system, the user is provided with a good user experience and the best usability in the process of the non-destructive inspection calculation system, providing help and advice as needed at the time.
Thus, the user will feel more confident in every operation he/she performs and this will motivate him/her to continue using the calculation tool. They will be provided with concrete information that will allow them to make comparisons in real time. The user will be guided to avoid possible abandonment of the page. And, virtual assistance with LINQ staff will be available to customers.

TFM: Design of an Industrial Digital Service: development of the Tubos Reunidos Group Intranet

MUDE - TRG

After a series of analyses of content, structure, UI and UX, among others, using HCD methodologies and with current and future users, it was possible to define the project brief for the new TRG Intranet on which the TFM was developed:

“Development, implementation and improvement of the SharePoint Online tool as an intranet for the Tubos Reunidos Group company, facilitating the day-to-day and the most frequent processes used by the target users, its employees.”

As this is an internal platform to which only Tubos Reunidos Group employees have access, a prototype has been created using Figma. The aim of this replica is to be able to show in a simplified way the functionalities, contents, accesses, visual design, etc. used at the start of the new SharePoint platform to people outside the organisation, as of 11 May 2023, without showing confidential data.
The final grade of the project was outstanding and the TRG Intranet tool is being used satisfactorily by users although, as it is a process of adapting workflows with the Microsoft 365 suite, it is a process that has not yet been completed and may be adapted and adjusted as time goes by and as it is used.

Platåbergens Geopark Board Game GeoHeroes

Skövde, Sweden

The aim of the game is to increase children's motivation to learn about the Geological Heritage, Natural Heritage, Cultural Heritage and Intangible Heritage of the Platåbergens Geopark and the effects of climate change on all these heritages. The game will take place in the Geokids programme of Platåbergens Geopark. The Geokids programme aims to allow children to explore nature in a fun way, while giving them information about the UNESCO Global Geoparks, Platåbergens Geopark and the surrounding mountains. GEOKIDS is mainly focused on children aged 9-12 years, so the board game will be designed for this age group. The game animator/monitor will receive a rule book for the board game. The children can also learn the rules by reading the book, but it may be more useful to have a facilitator explain the rules to the children, so as not to waste too much time. The board game can be played with a certain number of participants, so that all participants can be divided into different groups and play at the same time.

TFM: Design Thinking application in secondary education

Zaragoza, Spain

The Master's Final Project shows the proposed application of the Design Thinking (DT) methodology in the educational environment. To do so, the method is first presented in the most common environment of use, the business environment, then adaptations are presented to apply it in schools, highlighting the properties and benefits that can lead to its use and, finally, a comparison is made with other processes used such as PBL (Project Based Learning), showing the similarities, differences and innovative aspects that it brings and why DT is defended in this work. Then, taking into account aspects of the current LOMLOE regulations at national level and in the Autonomous Community of Aragon, a proposal for a didactic unit is presented in which the WP methodology can be applied, its timing, with the phases, some new ones, and recommended tools, and the different project evaluation systems. All of this has been proposed in a real context of the centre where the Practicum of the Master's Degree in Teaching, specialising in Technology and Computer Science has been carried out, having given tutored teaching in the subject of Technology and Digitalisation in the 2nd and 3rd levels of ESO (Secondary Education). Finally, a brief reflection has been generated on the future of learning methods in education and the relevance that Design Thinking should have, as well as lines of improvement and future prospects both with regard to the typology of the project and the acquisition of competences of secondary education students.
